The hand looked innocent enough, but turned into a viral video monster, leading players such as the great Ike Haxton to question why. This week, Wolfgang returns to the scene of previous success as he plays on the Celebrity Poker Tour as their Championship streams live on the CPT YouTube channel on Wednesday.

Hot on the heels of outlasting players such as Barstool Mintzy, Princess Love and Josie Canseco on CPT Game Night II earlier this year, Wolfgang’s heads-up victory against Tana Mongeau that night has spurred him on to play this week’s Celebrity Poker Tour Championship. Confident as ever, we caught up with the viral YouTube poker star to find out why.

Hooking the Viewers

“The Celebrity Poker Tour guys do a great job of making unreal lineups.”

Many poker fans look out for Wolfgang whenever there is an event such as the forthcoming Celebrity Poker Tour Championship on Wednesday. His entertaining presence makes any good poker game great and after breaking the CPT run of female winners, he embraces the pressure that comes with his new favorite tag.

“I’m super confident in this field!” Wolfgang laughs. “The CPT guys do a great job of making unreal lineups that always have me as the favorite at my table. Now it’s just up to the cards and how they fall.”

Over the past 12 months, Wolfgang has become a viral sensation for winning a cash pot with pocket jacks! If you haven’t seen it, here’s the hand in full:

His breakdown of the numbers behind that hand was incredible and even after all this time, the hand still gets brought up often to Wolfgang.

“After the thread between Ike Haxton and I on X got some views, people have brought it up and were curious about my thoughts,” he says. “Otherwise, most interactions these days have to do with my thoughts on shorts or reels and my deep runs in places like Monaco or Barcelona on the EPT (European Poker Tour).”

Tips for First-Time Poker Vloggers

“I have big plans in 2025 to fire some massive tourneys.”

Like all of Wolfgang’s fans, we love the way he puts each video together and tries to cram as many sounds and visual prompts as possible. Given he clearly loves his work both during the hand of poker and long after, we asked him for some tips for first-timers looking to start a video blog.

“I’d recommend picking your favorite elements of different creators and incorporating them into your own videos,” he tells us. “Also, changing one thing at a time makes a big difference in six months, so don’t get overwhelmed early on with trying to be perfect, everything good takes time!”

Wolfgang has recently gone past $100,000 in live tournament winnings, so will he be focusing more on tournaments in 2025, or is cash still king?

“Cash is king for sure, at least in the day-to-day vlogs,” he admits. “However, I’m very aware of the potential upside of a deep final table run, and its impact on my channel. I have big plans in 2025 to fire some massive tourneys and really try and manufacture that viral video of me winning a tournament.”

Wolfgang is originally from the Windy City, Chicago, but these days he travels a lot, enjoying two of his biggest scores when thousands of miles from home in Europe. He admits to having that Wanderlust all live poker players of a certain level must possess.

“I hate sitting still, and even more, doing the same thing over and over.” He says. “That shows in my videos. I got the itch to travel after my study abroad year in Heidelberg. Once I started my YouTube channel, I realized I could combine work with traveling and have each trip be multi-purpose. I get to see new parts of the world and meet awesome people, all while documenting my poker journey and making an income!”

Wolfgang Wins
That winning moment is sweet again for Wolfgang Poker, a.k.a Alexander Seibt, on the Celebrity Poker Tour.

Taking on the CPT Once Again

“The Celebrity Poker Tour embodies everything I love in poker.”

With some huge stars from sports, entertainment and poker appearing in the Celebrity Poker Tour Championship on Wednesday, Wolfgang is relishing taking them on.

“The Celebrity Poker Tour embodies everything I love in poker,” he says. “I’m always the one trying to get people out of their shell, tell a story, or do something funny. They’re getting celebs to stream and post about poker, and in turn bringing so many new people into the game. The guys over at the Celebrity Poker Tour are so good for poker.”

If Wolfgang couldn’t back himself to win on November 20, he’s got his eye on a couple of shrewd players who he backs to go far in the tournament.

“I’d love to say Ethan [Klein], but after a few drinks there’s no way he doesn’t punt into Sketch for content,” Wolfgang chuckles. “For that reason, I’m going to pick either Nemo or Alex Botez. They both play this event super serious and try hard to win, seems like a safe bet there!”

From a tour that’s good for poker to a current legend who is good for the game, Wolfgang and the Celebrity Poker Tour renew their relationship on Wednesday. The poker vlogger is always great value for poker fans… especially when he wins. Could he do so again on November 20? All eyes will be on the Celebrity Poker Tour Championship in Las Vegas.

Here’s a reminder of how Wolfgang Poker conquered the Celebrity Poker Tour the first time around:
