The WSOP Main Event, the $50,000 Poker Players Championship and a Super High Roller event with a $250,000 entry fee all jostle for position among 100 bracelet events this summer. The World Series of Poker have announced the full schedule and with new events such as the ‘Battle of the Ages’ joining established multi-table tournaments such as the Colossus and Monster Stack, the WSOP summer stars here!

Horseshoe and Paris are Shared Hosts Again

“The WSOP Main Event was bigger than ever!”

The 56th annual WSOP in Las Vegas, Nevada is sure to be a poker spectacular. Held at both the Horseshoe Las Vegas and Paris Las Vegas for the fourth consecutive year, the iconic venues will play host to all 100 bracelet events on the Las Vegas Strip. This year’s opening event is the $1,000-entry Mystery Millions, which has five Day 1 flights, a $1 million top prize and $1m top bounty prize to boot.

“We had hoped to continue to break records last year, and we did – the WSOP Main Event was bigger than ever,” Ty Stewart, Chief Executive Officer of WSOP, said in announcing this year’s schedule in the official WSOP press release. “In 2025, the WSOP schedule is better again, with something for everyone who loves the game. There’s nothing like summer in Las Vegas and we’re ready to welcome players to the biggest and best WSOP of all time!”

Last year, online poker players at GGPoker qualified for the action in their drives, with over 1,000 players in the record-breaking Main Event taking their seats due to winning tickets on the biggest poker site in the world. There will be a huge satellite schedule leading up to the 2025 WSOP on both GG and WSOP.com and the GGPoker Global Ambassador Daniel Negreanu can’t wait to try to win his eighth WSOP bracelet after taking down the $50,000 Poker Players Championship for over a million bucks in 2024.

GGPoker’s Road to Vegas allows poker enthusiasts all over the world to make their way to Las Vegas and follow in the footsteps of their poker heroes by taking aim at WSOP gold. Join us in 2025!” he said.

When Does the 2025 WSOP Main Event Take Place?

“I can’t win and I think it hurts the older players.” ~ Phil Hellmuth, 1989 world champion.

The WSOP Main Event is the biggest event of the 100 on the ticket this year and takes place between July 2 and 16 in 2025. Last year, Jonathan Tamayo courted controversy when he won the record-breaking 2024 iteration for $10m after regularly consulting his friends on the rail with a computer targeting GTO plays.

This year’s $10,000-entry freezeout tournament is sure to be a classic, and with the World Championship the defining event since the early 70s, this year’s opening day in the Main Event – Day 1A – is scheduled for July 2. There are four Day 1 flights, with the final playing to a winner from the final three on July 16.

Amazingly, the 1989 world champion and legendary 17-time bracelet winner Phil Hellmuth says he won’t be taking part.

“It’s turned into an endurance test – I don’t think it’s measuring skill,” he said upon the release of the schedule. “I know that I can’t do that – I’m 60 years old. 80% of players would say you need a day off during the Main Event. Playing from noon until midnight, it’s just exhausting. I can’t win and I think it hurts the older players more than the younger players.”

The Poker Brat may not be making his traditional grandiose entrance but the WSOP Main Event is still going to be a massive tournament.

What Other WSOP Events Are on the Schedule?

Event #2, the $500-entry Industry Employees NLHE event, used to be the opening event but now takes place on the opening day along with the $1,000-entry Mystery Million event, officially Event #1 on the board. With $50,000, $100,000 and $250,000 high rollers, a $1,500 buy-in Pot-Limit Omaha Double Board Bomb Pot and a $1,000 buy-in ‘Battle of the Ages’ event, there’s something for everyone.

The latter takes place in No-Limit Hold’em across two days from June 22 and will see players aged 50 and over compete on Day 1A, while players under 50 will do clash on Day 1B, with the surviving players from the ‘young’ and ‘old’ groups coming together to play down to a winner on June 23. What if you turn 50 on the day of entry? Letters on a postcard to Jack Effel on that one.

The $1,500-entry Millionaire Maker event is scheduled to start on June 18, while the  $50,000 buy-in Poker Players Championship – which Daniel ‘Kid Poker’ Negreanu won in 2024, begins on June 24. A $10,000 buy-in Pot-Limit Omaha Championship (June 28) and $3,000-entry T.O.R.S.E event (July 11) will please mixed game players and the ‘Summer Celebration’ (July 2) event kicks off for $800 on the same day players can buy-in to the 56th annual WSOP Main Event for $10,000.

HoW to Follow the 2025 WSOP

There will be live satellites, deepstack daily events and other promotional live tournaments taking place at the Horseshoe and Paris in Las Vegas, along with WSOP.com and GGPoker hosting online satellites in the lead up to and during the WSOP.  In 2024, the world’s biggest online poker room GGPoker brought 1,000 players to the 2024 Main Event via their qualifying events and this number is bound to increase in 2025.

The WSOP also confirmed that the 2025 WSOP Europe festival will return to King’s Casino in Rozvadov on the Czech-German border from September 12 to October 8, with 15 WSOP bracelet events, including the €10,350-entry WSOP Europe Main Event – perhaps The Poker Brat might try to win his second title in this event.

With regular broadcaster PokerGO returning as live stream partners of the WSOP throughout the summer, there will be a full PokerGO broadcast schedule released in the build-up to the 56th annual WSOP.
